Q: What web browsers does Shark Week Video Frenzy support?
A: Squabbler supports Firefox 3.5+, Safari 5.0+, and Internet Explorer 7+. If you have not updated your browser and are having any technical issues, please update it now and see if the problem persists. If it does, please contact us at bracketsupport@squabbler.com.
Q: How long does a squabble last?
A: All squabbles will last 3 days.
Q: How is a winner determined?
A: A winner is declared at the conclusion of the squabble and the person with the highest vote percentage is declared the victor.
Q: Is there a time limit to how long my side of the squabble can be?
A: Yes, 30 seconds. Any videos that run longer will be cut off at the 30-second time limit.
Q: Does my 30 second spot have to be a verbal spot?
A: No, feel free to be creative. You can use props, dance, sing, etc. -- it's your thirty seconds. Use them however you wish.
Q: How do I get into the Bracket?
A: The Discovery Channel will determine which 16 videos will participate in the Final "Bracket" Round.
Q: What if I forgot my username and/or password?
A: Click the Log In / Register link at the top of any page and then click the Forgot Password link.
Q: Why do I need to provide my birthday?
A: The Discovery Channel requires all users to provide their real date of birth to encourage authenticity and provide only age-appropriate access to content. Your age will NEVER be displayed anywhere on the site.
Q: What is Discovery Channel's Comment Policy?
A: Discovery Channel moderators pre-moderate comments on all squabbles. We only delete those comments that include the following transgressions:
- are abusive, off-topic, use excessive foul language
- contain racist, sexist, homophobic and other slurs
- are solicitations and/or advertising for personal blogs and websites
- thread spamming (you've posted this same comment elsewhere on the site
- are posted with the explicit intention of provoking other commenters or the staff at the Discovery Channel.
- contains content that may infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of others or other applicable laws or regulations.
Q: I posted a comment. Why can't I see it on the site?
A: There are two scenarios for which your comment may not appear:
- It may be pending approval. Comments on squabbles are moderated BEFORE they appear on the site, and this takes time. We appreciate your patience and ask that you refrain from posting the same comment repeatedly.
- Your comment violated the policy above. We pride ourselves in providing a medium for engaging in debate and discussion and encourage our users to speak their minds freely, provided comments fall within our commenting policy. We must respect our squabblers and protect them from vicious and inflammatory comments. They too are entitled to free speech- the right to share their opinions without being subject to scathing and mean-spirited remarks.
Q: Can I include HTML in my comments?
A: We remove all html from comments to preserve formatting consistency.
Q: There is a comment that I find insulting and in violation of your policy. What can I do?
A: You can flag the comment as abusive by pressing the Flag link below the comment. This alerts our moderators who will delete the comments that don't comply with our policy.
